On Tuesday 7th May the Dyer Craft met at the Woodlands Hotel for their annual Supper. The event celebrated the 28th year of the Dyers, following its reformation as an Open Craft, and as they enter the three hundredth and thirty first year since its original formation in 1693. The speakers for the evening included Alexander Garty LVO, who shared his story, ‘Tipperary to Buckingham Palace’, that was the most interesting and intriguing personal story. Deacon Steve thanked Alexander for sharing his special memories of working for Her Majesty The Queen and added, ‘It was been a privilege to be taken on a journey that very few people would ever experience. Melanie Kiyani from Strathmartine Community Larder presented an update of the work being carried out for the charity supported by the Dyers and The Nine trades and Craft member, Dr. Mhairi Towler ended the evening with a wonderful poetry reading.
