Sunday 24th November marked the Kirkin’ of the Trades held in the Kingsgait Kirk, the Trades Kirk. In June last year a service took place to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the completion of the Trades Kirk in 1774 and it remains today one of Dundee’s few 18th century buildings still in existence.
The service was led by the Trades minister, Reverend Anita Kerr and scripture readings were given by Deacon Convener Lundie of the Three United Trades of Dundee and by Deacon Convener Fyffe of the Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee. Collector Paul Leigh led the Prayers Intercession. It was good to see so many members who joined the congregation for this very special annual occasion.
